TLS Logistics Specialist

Logistics Specialist - Broker           

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Forward Air TLS is looking for a Solutions Oriented Logistic Specialist. The Logistic Specialist will be responsible for managing new and existing accounts, rate negotiation with the ability to build long term business relationships. They will use exceptional customer service and problem solving skills to manage all the customers’ needs and expectations. This person will be a key member of the team, reporting to the Logistics Manager. The position is responsible for effectively and efficiently finding, developing, improving and utilizing service focused methods for moving and protecting the profitability of the operations 

Job Requirements:

  •  Freight brokerage experience required   
  •  Ability to negotiating with carriers 
  •  Excellent problem solving skills 
  •  Customer service experience 
  •  Ability to work with all levels - Operations and/or sales  
  •  Ability to develop long-term business relationships   
  •  Excellent Computer skills 
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  •  Some college coursework is preferred, but not required.  
  •  Knowledge of major cities/airport locations in the continental US 
  •  Other duties as assigned  

Skills:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit accompanied with a competitive and confident personality
  • Ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus
  • Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Customer Service/Sales experience is a plus
